Match Captain Chrissie Owens reported that this was the third and final match of the season as the match against Lincolnshire was cancelled due to the travelling distance to Grimsby. Played at home on a glorious autumn day, Pippa Holliday, President of the NVLGS, kindly came along to start all the games. It was great to have Sue Meadows playing in the team again and a warm welcome was given to two new team players, Elaine Richards from Sheringham and Sally Benton from Eaton. After the long, hot summer there was still a lot of run on the ball and many birdies were gained by both sides! The match was halved, having been played in good spirits and enjoyed by all, followed by a two course meal of lasagne, salad and garlic bread with a brownie and ice cream to follow. Match Captain Chrissie Owens reported that the second match of the season was a magnificent win for the team away to Bedfordshire played at The Bedfordshire Golf Club. The parkland course of roaming fairways with stunning views of the Bedfordshire countryside was in great condition. With two rookies in the squad, Jo Barnard from Bawburgh and Dawn Futter from Great Yarmouth & Caister, the team was in high spirits. The match was played in good spirits. With its excellent clubhouse and a newly-extended balcony, the hospitality of a two-course meal (chilli & rice followed by brioche bread and butter pudding) was enjoyed by all.
