Match Captain Chrissie Owens reported that the final match of the season was played at Ely Golf Club later than planned, having been postponed earlier in the year due to bad weather. With the match taking place in September, it was difficult to field a team due to holidays and other golfing so only six players (3 pairs) made the trip to Ely. Anne Ellis from Sheringham kindly stepped in at the last minute for the team and to play her first Vets match. Undoubtedly Ely City's mature parkland course was a real pleasure to play but both accuracy and solid ball striking were the key to scoring well! This was always going to be a tough match against Cambs & Hunts as some of their players are also county senior players. However, all games were played in good spirit and the ladies very hospitable offering a delicious meal of pan-fried chicken with dauphinoise potatoes, carrot puree and crispy stuffing. As this was the last match, Chrissie would like to thank everyone who has played over the past couple of years and hands over the role to Sue Saunders of Thetford Golf Club.

Match Captain Chrissie Owens reported that the second match of the season was played at home against Lincolnshire at King's Lynn. After a wet start to the day, the match was played in dry conditions ending in a glorious afternoon. A warm welcome was given to two new team players - Kath Malvern from Thetford and Sally Bettinson from King's Lynn. With three home players the team was in a good position. The traditionally larger squad of 10 was played for this Lincolnshire match. The match was played in good spirits and was followed by a two-course meal served outside on the veranda. The teams enjoyed chicken, bacon and avocado salad followed by strawberries and cream. A big thanks to King's Lynn Golf Club who never fails to impress, the course was a delight to play and excellent hospitality and catering. And a fantastic result of 41/2 / 1/2 to Norfolk. NVLGS colours were presented to Dawn Futter.

Match Captain Chrissie Owens reported that this was the first match of the season, the match against Bedfordshire having been cancelled by Bedfordshire and the match v Cambs & Hunts rearranged due to the weather. This was always going to be a tough match as we were playing against Suffolk's seniors team. Rookery Park was in fantastic condition; a long course which played to its full yardage. Sadly the result did not reflect the quality of the golf played by Norfolk. The ladies of Suffolk were very hospitable and the club served a delicious two-course meal of Suffolk ham, bubble and squeak cake, mixed greens and a mustard sauce, followed by lemon meringue pie with summer berries. NVLGS colours were presented to Debbie Pollard-Barns and Jo Barnard.
